Jason Kidd Made The Best Coaching Decision Of His Life By Publicly Calling Out Luka Doncic For Being Complete Garbage On Defense

I know you shouldn't call out your own players, especially if that player is your star. But your star is a mess defensively and that might be a compliment. You can't win if Luka is going to be this bad on that side of the ball. Not against a Suns team that will just use Chris Paul in a ball screen to get Luka on him and then smile and laugh as he kicks his ass. The Mavs can score as much as they want and stay close, but any time they need a stop in the 4th quarter you either have to bench your star on defense or get lucky. That's how bad it's been for the Mavs and Luka.

Now I see a bunch of people blasting Kidd for this. Uh, why? He's saying the truth. He's trying to do anything to get Luka to do something on defense. If Luka can't handle his coach calling him out and challenging him then there's a bigger problem. Sure, we can question some of Jason Kidd's coaching decisions, but not this. This is just trying to get your star fired up. That's smart. 

I love how Dirk caught a quick shot here too. Jason Kidd just being like yeah Dirk was soft as shit and everyone knew it, but then he fixed it. Now you do it too Luka. Again, Kidd isn't wrong. I remember watching Dirk and how people attacked him. It's not like he got great on defense, but he at least got to the point where he wasn't complete trash. That's what Luka needs to do. Whether it's calling Dirk or anyone else, this has to be the fix.
